Browsing the site
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes your IP address and request details to serve pages and keep the service secure. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not set cookies and we use no advertising or tracking cookies. ToolSift sets no cookies of its own. Fonts are your device's system fonts, and we embed no third-party videos, widgets or social buttons.
Newsletter sign-up
If you subscribe, we send your email address to Resend, our email provider, and store it in our newsletter list there. We use it only to send the ToolSift newsletter. Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to be removed.
Free tool submissions
The free submission form sends us your tool name, tool URL, use case, description and your email address. These are emailed to us through Resend and stored as a contact in a submissions list in Resend, so we can review the tool and reply to you. Details about a submitted tool may be published in our review; your email address is not.
Paid listings
Paid options use Stripe checkout. Stripe processes your payment and card details; we never see or store your card data. When a purchase completes, Stripe tells us, and we receive an email (via Resend) with the purchase tier, amount, your email, tool name, tool URL and use-case page, so we can deliver what you bought. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the payment.
404 page search
The search box on our "page not found" page sends your search terms to DuckDuckGo, which runs the search on its own site.
Why we use your data (lawful basis)
- Purchases: contract. We need your details to deliver what you bought.
- Free submissions: legitimate interest. We use your details to review your tool and reply to you.
- Newsletter: consent. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.
- Hosting, security and analytics: legitimate interest in running the site.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
You can ask us to: see the personal data we hold about you (access), correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy of it (portability). You can withdraw consent to the newsletter at any time. Email milo@toolsift.ai. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
How long we keep it
- Purchase records: 6 years, for tax.
- Free submissions: 2 years.
- Newsletter address: until you unsubscribe.
Stripe and Vercel keep their own logs under their own policies.
International transfers
Vercel, Resend and Stripe may process your data in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
